While the start of the 2020-21 school year has been an unusual one, we are still looking to uphold the traditions of Colgan High School with the Class of 2021. This includes allowing seniors the opportunity to paint their parking spaces. We do not have information yet about how students can purchase parking permits; however we will share that information as soon as it becomes available from the School Division.
We will be offering multiple dates and times for students to paint their spaces. Due to social distancing guidelines, parking spaces right next to each other will not be able to be painted during the same day and time. The cost to paint your parking space is $10. Payment may be in the form of cash, check, or money order made out to Colgan High School.
Parking Space Decoration Expectations:
Students must have their designs pre-approved prior to payment. Because these designs will be displayed on school property and could have the appearance of being school and School Division endorsed, designs that are religious, political, or controversial in nature will not be approved. The Administration of Colgan High School reserves the right to not allow any design that it deems offensive or controversial. The judgement on appropriateness of design is at the sole discretion of the school administration. In addition, designs that portray offensive language, pictures, or symbols; negative or rude language; gang-style tagging; and other student’s names or likeness will also not be approved.
Design submissions will be accepted between October 15 - October 30. Upon submission, students will be contacted regarding the approval of their design via email. Please submit designs via email to Mrs. Riddle, riddlek@pwcs.edu. Students will select their parking space and pay after their designs are approved.
Paint parameters:
Students will only paint within the designated spaces, approximately 4” from each side of the space. Students may only use water-based exterior latex paint. Spray paint, reflective paint and florescent paint are not permitted. All paint must come in its original container and be approved before painting can begin. Painting will take place on Saturdays and Mondays during the month of October.
Painting Dates & Times:
Will be staggered based on spots. No painting will take place during class time. We will have dates/times for Saturdays, Mondays, and after school hours.
